The traditional Fastnacht carnival parade in Varnhalt, a district in the Rebland wine region, is jointly organised by the Narren-Club Varnhalter „Rebschenkele“ and the Reblandhexen Varnhalt. The colourful procession with music and carnival groups makes its way down from the Oberdorf at Alexanderplatz across the Kirchbuckel; afterwards the „Hexenkessel“ (witches' cauldron) takes place in the Yburghalle. The small wine-growing village is popular with carnival revellers and attracts numerous groups.
