On Fastnachtsdienstag (Shrove Tuesday), the large Fastnacht carnival parade passes through the Oos district. The organiser is the Ooser Carneval-Verein 1932; for many decades the parade has ranked among the city's largest Fastnacht events, at times affecting traffic in the district. Numerous groups of Narren (carnival revellers) and spectators take part.
