Kinderfest

Event · Fredericksburg, Pioneer Museum, Main Street · December 9, 2026

Note: the 2026 date is not yet officially confirmed – please check with the organiser before visiting.

Kinderfest, hosted by the Pioneer Museum in Fredericksburg, reenacts the German tradition of children putting out their shoes on the eve of St. Nicholas Day; well-behaved children find nuts, fruit and candy, naughty ones a switch or coal. This is a separate, smaller event from the town's much larger October Oktoberfest.
