Würzburg's autumn sales fair is held every year for two weeks around the All Saints' Day holiday on the Oberer Markt and Unterer Markt. Its roots go back to 1227, when King Heinrich VII granted the city market rights. On offer are everyday goods such as clothing, baskets and household items, along with the pottery that gave the fair its nickname Häfelesmess.
