At the Viehscheid (ceremonial cattle drive from the alpine pastures) in the Oberstdorf district of Schöllang, around 600 cattle are driven down from the surrounding alpine pastures into the valley. At the Viehscheidplatz at the southern entrance to the village, the animals are separated and handed over to their owners. Afterwards, people celebrate in the marquee with musical entertainment.
