Brezenangeln

A traditional Oberammergau carnival (Fasching) custom: during the carnival parade, adults on a float hang Brezen (pretzels) and Wuerstl (sausages) from fishing lines, which masked children snap at to 'angle' their snack. The parade starts at the Kleines Theater and runs through the village to Max-Streibl-Platz. Afterwards the Ammergau clubs host a Kehraus, the closing celebration.
