Almabtrieb der Schafe

As part of the Mittenwalder Bauernwochen (Mittenwald farmers' weeks), the sheep are driven through the village centre at the end of their summer on the alpine pastures. This Schafabtrieb (ceremonial sheep drive down from the mountain pastures) is one of the autumn folk-custom dates in the Werdenfelser Land region.
