Lindauer Fasnacht

The Lindauer Fasnacht is the Swabian-Alemannic Fasnet (Alemannic carnival) held by the Narrenzunft Lindau, the local fools' guild, in the old town on the island. Its highlight is the Narrensprung, a procession of masked figures through the island's lanes on Fasnachtssonntag (carnival Sunday). The programme also features the Narrenbaumzug, the raising of the fools' tree, with the storming of the old town hall, the Buzentanz dance, a children's parade and the Kehraus that closes the festivities.
