Fährmannsfest is the largest alternative open-air festival in the Hannover region and has been held since 1983 at the confluence of the Ihme and the Leine. On several stages between the Leine and the Ihme, as well as on the Fährmannsinsel, there is live music of various genres. The programme is complemented by the Bunte Bühne on the Faust-Wiese, with a children's festival, poetry slam and further attractions.
