Kölner Geisterzug

The Kölner Geisterzug is an alternative, non-commercial carnival procession that winds through different Cologne districts on the Saturday evening before Weiberfastnacht. Participants dress up as ghosts and mythical creatures; the procession sees itself as the continuation of an old tradition and leaves room for socially critical undertones.
