As the state currently holding the presidency of the Bundesrat, the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen hosts the central celebration for the Tag der Deutschen Einheit. The Bürgerfest extends across the entire city centre as far as the Osterdeich and the Weserstadion. On a Ländermeile the federal states present themselves, alongside a stage programme of concerts and exhibitions, all with free admission.
