The Salzburger Festungsadvent takes place in the courtyard of the Festung Hohensalzburg, high above the city. On the weekends of Advent, the market offers arts and crafts and culinary delicacies as well as a supervised children's programme with crafts and biscuit baking. The fortress is easily reached by the Festungsbahn.
