Historic Zoar Village hosts its annual Christmas in Zoar celebration, with horse-drawn wagon rides through the village, a church service and tree lighting, and visits from Kristkind, the German Belsnickel figure, and Santa. Zoar was founded in 1817 by German Separatist immigrants who built a communal religious society along the Tuscarawas River. The village operates today as a museum of its German utopian history.
