Syracuse's GermanFest recalls the town's 1870s German immigrant settlement with wiener-dog races, folk dancing, a parade, a market, and a two-block beer garden at the Otoe County Fairgrounds. The event is stated to occur every second Saturday of July and reached its 37th annual edition in a recent year.
