The Richmond Folk Festival is a free, multi-day celebration of traditional music and culture staged along the James River on Brown's Island. Several outdoor stages host touring and regional performers covering genres such as blues, zydeco, gospel and other world music traditions. The riverfront site also includes dance areas, a marketplace of crafts and a wide range of food vendors. The festival draws large crowds to downtown Richmond each fall.
