The Nauvoo Grape Festival celebrates the town's viticulture, planted by French Icarian settlers after 1849 and continued today at Baxter's Vineyards, Illinois' oldest winery; it has no German theme. It is held every year on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend and includes a parade, competitions and the Festival on Wheels car show. Its 88th annual edition places the 2027 festival on September 3-5, though the organizers had not yet published the exact 2027 date at the time of research.
