Eureka's German Schmeckfest celebrates the town's German-Russian heritage with pioneer demonstrations, a songfest, and a traditional German meal. Eureka was settled by German-Russian farmers unable to find land further south, and was once known as the world's wheat capital. The date given here (third weekend of September) is the stated recurring pattern; the exact 2026 date was not separately confirmed by the organizer for this year.
