Cole Camp, nicknamed the 'Festival City,' has hosted a German Oktoberfest since 2001 at the Jaycee Gardens downtown. The town was settled after 1835 by immigrants from northern Germany who became the area's predominant ethnic group. The festival offers traditional German food, beer, contests, and live music, including local German choirs.
