De HOOPening is the annual festival of the MAAKgemeenschap De Hoop, a creative community housed in a former cardboard factory on the edge of Zaandam. Over two days, the roughly 170 studios open their doors to the public. Visitors can walk through the workshops, experience art and take part in workshops ranging from ceramics through screen printing to jewellery making.
