At the Internationaal Vuurwerkfestival Scheveningen, teams from various countries compete against each other with elaborate firework displays over the North Sea. The fireworks are set off from pontoons just off the coast and can be seen from the beach, the boulevard and the pier. Held on several evenings in August, the free spectacle draws large crowds.
