Sinterklaasintocht Nijmegen

Sinterklaas arrives at the Waalkade aboard the Pakjesboot (gift boat) and is welcomed by the mayor. He then rides on horseback through the town centre to the Grote Markt, where he greets the children, and on to the Huis van Sinterklaas in the Sint Nicolaaskapel in the Valkhofpark. The arrival traditionally takes place on the Saturday after Sint Maarten (St Martin's Day).
