Grote Optocht 'De Boonte Störm'

The Grote Optocht, known in the Maastricht dialect as 'de Boonte Störm', is the large carnival parade on Carnival Sunday. Organised by the city carnival association De Tempeleers, a colourful procession of decorated floats, Hermeniekes (carnival brass bands) and carnival groups moves through the city. The parade sets off in Wyck and crosses the Sint-Servaasbrug towards the centre.
