Grote Optocht 'De Boonte Störm'

The Grote Optocht, known in the Maastricht dialect as 'de Boonte Störm', is the large carnival parade on Carnival Sunday. Organized by the city carnival association De Tempeleers, a colorful procession of decorated floats, Hermeniekes (carnival brass bands) and carnival groups moves through the city. The parade sets off in Wyck and crosses the Sint-Servaasbrug toward the center.
