ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag) is a showcase festival with a conference for new European music. During the day, music professionals gather for the conference at the Oosterpoort, while in the evening numerous up-and-coming artists present their music in venues spread across the city. The festival draws around 40,000 visitors to Groningen each year.
