The Jordaanfestival is a traditional street party in Amsterdam's Jordaan district, centred on the Appeltjesmarkt at the junction of Marnixstraat and Elandsgracht. The district's history is celebrated with Amsterdam sentimental ballads (smartlappen), street theatre and concerts on the Elandsplein. The festival has been running since 1975, and most of the outdoor activities are free.
