Ballarat Begonia Festival

A garden festival held in Ballarat each March since 1953, centred on the city's begonia collection, which the organisers describe as the rarest in the Southern Hemisphere. The City of Ballarat's horticultural team grows more than 500 varieties for the occasion, and the Botanical Gardens are the main setting.
