At the Grazer Faschingsumzug, the city centre turns into a sea of colourful, creative costumes and floats. The procession sets off at the Oper Graz and runs along the Herrengasse to the Hauptplatz, where a jury judges the participants. The parade's motto is 'das Steirerland im Narreng'wand' (Styria in fools' garb).
